Opening or Inserting Particular Version of a Design

This task shows you how to open or insert an earlier or later version of a design from ENOVIA in AutoCAD. This feature is used to retrieve an earlier design or a later version of a design if it exists to restart development.


Before you begin: Multiple versions of the design must exist in ENOVIA.

  1. Click ENOVIA > Open or Insert from AutoCAD tool bar.

    The ENOVIA Open or ENOVIA Insert dialog box opens.

  2. Search for the design using Search option in ENOVIA Open or ENOVIA Insert dialog box. See Searching Designs.

    The search results are listed in ENOVIA Open or ENOVIA Insertdialog box.

  3. Right-click a design and click Open Version

    Note: This option is not displayed if multiple versions of the design does not exist.

    The Select Version dialog box opens.

    The version and the description entered while saving the version to ENOVIA is displayed.

  4. Select the required version and click Open or Insert depending on your choice.

The selected version of the design is opened in AutoCAD or inserted in the active design.

Note: Opening a version of a parent object is preferred over any design configuration selections done in the Open Options dialog box. The "As Stored" design configuration of the selected version is opened from ENOVIA by default.
