The classification lifecycle defines the process for classifications (general classes, document families, and part families).
The Classification lifecycle includes these states:
When a new classification object is created, its lifecycle state is Inactive. It remains in this state so the hierarchy can be added to or changed.
The classification is promoted to the Active state so it is available for use in the application. It remains in this state as long as it is in use.
The classification can be promoted to the Obsolete state when it is no longer required.
