Test Execution Lifecycle

The Test Execution lifecycle controls Test Execution objects related to an Engineering Change object.

The Test Execution lifecycle includes these states:

Create

In this state the object can be created by any user who has access to the parent Engineering Change object. The QE manager enters and plans when the Test Execution will take place. This is the only state where the owner can delete the object.

In Progress

When the test execution object enters this state, the Actual Start Date attribute is populated with the current system date. Only the owner and assignees have access to add information to this object or to the test results section. Only the owner has access to promote and demote.

Review

When the test execution object enters this state, the Actual End Date attribute is populated with the current system date. Until this state assignees can be added by the EC owner. Only the owner has access from this point on. The owner has modify access to change enter the following attribute information: Estimated Start Date, Estimated End Date, Percentage Passed. Only the owner has access to promote and demote.

Complete

Only the owner has access to demote. In this state the test execution object cannot be modified and the assignees do not have access.
