Promoting a Quotation

This section describes how to promote a quotation.

This task shows you how to:

Before you begin:

The following quotation states are available:


  • Preliminary - This is the initial status after a quotation is generated. After the RFQ round is promoted to Submitted for Quote, the system generates quotations in the Preliminary status for each supplier involved in the round.
  • Returned - A supplier is able to promote a quotation from Preliminary to Returned after the supplier completes the quotation.
  • Completed - If all products are no bid, accepted or rejected in the quotation, the system changes the quotation status from Returned to Completed.
  • Cancelled - If an RFQ is changed to Cancelled, all related quotations that are in Preliminary and Returned statuses are changed to Cancelled.

All the parameters in a quotation will be read-only once the quotation status is promoted from Preliminary.

When a supplier, or PO/A acting on the supplier's behalf, promotes a quotation from Preliminary to Returned, the system sends the RFQ owner an e-mail notification of the return.


  • The RFQ status is Submitted for Quote; or
  • The RFQ status is Responses Returned.
  • This function is only available to suppliers and PO/As assigned to the RFQ.

Promote the Current Quotation

This section describes how to promote the current quotation.

Before you begin: Ensure that you have assigned the Size to the quotation.

  1. From the global toolbar, click > Quotations. The Quotations page opens listing all the available quotations.

  2. Click Name of an quotation. The Properties page opens.

  3. From the Properties page toolbar, click Promote to promote the current quotation.

Promote Multiple Quotations

This section describes how to promote multiple quotations.

  1. From the global toolbar, click > Quotations. The Quotations page opens listing all the available quotations.

  2. Select multiple quotations, and then click Actions > Promote from the page toolbar to promote the selected quotations.

    You can also promote one quotation at a time.
