Dates and Time Format Summary

This topic summarizes the date and time formats in ENOVIA Live Collaboration.

All dates in ENOVIA Live Collaboration:

  • Are stored in the database in Greenwich Mean Time (GMT);
  • When displayed, are converted at runtime to the user's local time zone, as specified in the ENOVIA Live Collaboration Server Object to which they are logged on, or by the client machine's operating system (in a non-distributed environment);
  • Are displayed with the tokens specified in the MX_NORMAL date variables for ENOVIA Studio Modeling Platform and ENOVIA Matrix Web Navigator. Display of dates in ENOVIA products are determined by the browser language setting and by properties in emxSystem.properties. The NORMAL and TERSE formats must still be defined when running ENOVIA products, but they are specified in the MatrixIniDefaults program instead of the ini file.
  • May be entered in the format specified in either the TERSE or the NORMAL format variables.
  • If range values for date attributes are used, all users must use the same settings for MX_NORMAL_DATETIME_FORMAT and the attribute range values must adhere to this specification.
  • Web applications display dates in the time zone that is known to the ENOVIA Live Collaboration Server, not necessarily the time zone of the Web client.

For information on setting time zones in ENOVIA Live Collaboration and other date/time issues, refer to the Studio Modeling - System Manager Guide.
