Installers and Prerequisites

This section lists the available installers and the prerequisites for installing Collaborative Design for CATIA V5 Server.

Installers

The following installer archive files are on the media ENO_DEC_DVD – ENOVIA (AM_ENO_DEC), in the xCADEnablers/CollaborativeDesignForCATIAV5 folder:


  • ENOVIACollaborativeDesignForCATIAV5_Server-V6R2012x.Windows64.zip for the supported Windows operating system
  • ENOVIACollaborativeDesignForCATIAV5_Server-V6R2012x.Unix64.tar.gz for the supported UNIX operating systems

The detailed procedure and alternatives for launching the installer is explained in the ENOVIA Installer Guide. For quick reference, the steps are described in the ReadMe file included in the installer archive file (ReadMe_UNIX.txt in the Unix archive and ReadMe_Windows.txt in the Windows archive).

Note that the server component is installed using the ENOVIA Installer, which is not directly embedded in the archive files. The server component is available in the same media in the Installer folder.

Installation Prerequisites

The following is required for the installer to be launched successfully:


  • Designer Central V6R2012x (see Designer Central - Installation and Administrator's Guide)
  • The TEMP variable (for Windows) or TMP (for UNIX) must be set to a valid directory.
  • The drive where the TEMP variable points should have sufficient free space. The installer executable size is approximately 4 MB.
  • The Security Alert message is granted permission to proceed.

Ensure that the compatible version of JVM is installed. The JVM is available for download from Sun's Java web site.

Permissions for Installing on UNIX

You must log in as a user with administration rights. Log in as root to install the ENOVIA Collaborative Design for CATIA V5 on UNIX.

The user must have the following permissions:

  • Permission to run the installer
  • Permission to run MQL
  • Write permission on the ENOVIA Live Collaboration Server staging directory.
  • Write permission to the user installation directory
  • Java needs to be in the system PATH environment variable of the logged-in user
