In a collaborative environment, multiple users work on the same CATIA V5 design. The Design Change Report shows which designs have been updated since you downloaded them to your local computer, and lets you update your local copy of the design with the changes.
When updating a document with Check for Update, the new version of the document will
always be open in file mode. If the initial location was a DLName or if a DLName was chosen in the Design Change Report page as the destination for the new version, the update will work.
However, the document will appear to be loaded directly from the file system location pointed to by the DLName, instead of the DLName itself.
