Assigning a Defect Action

A Defect Action needs to be assigned to a person who is responsible for executing the actions defined (such as updating code) and the person responsible for testing the fix. You can also use this procedure to change the assignees.

  1. Perform one of these procedures:

    1. View the Properties page for the needed Defect Action. See Viewing Defect Action Details.
    2. From the page Actions menu or toolbar, click Assign.

    Or:

    From a list of Defect Actions, click for the needed Defect Action.



  2. Select an action assignee:

    1. Click the ellipsis button for Action Assignee.

      The Search page opens listing all uses who have the Development Engineer role.

    2. If needed, enter search criteria and click Search to narrow down the list of people.
    3. Select the needed person.
    4. Click Submit.

  3. Select a quality assignee:

    1. Click the ellipsis button for Quality Assignee.

      The Search page opens listing all uses who have the Quality Engineer role.

    2. If needed, enter search criteria and click Search to narrow down the list of people.
    3. Select the needed person.
    4. Click Submit.

  4. Click Done.

The selected people are assigned as responsible for executing and testing the Defect Action fix.
