You can add schema after installing the framework using the schema installer. There may be two schema installer directories. If you chose not to install any schema at the time you installed the framework, the schemaInstaller setup program is in Apps/framework/VERSION/SchemaInstaller. This is the only SchemaInstaller directory you will see until this setup program is run either manually or via the framework install routine. Once you have installed some schema with the schema installer, you can install out-of-the-box schema not previously installed or custom schema that are defined in xml files.
