How Does the VPLMPosImport Tool Work?

After the default installation, you must set up P&O data in the ENOVIA V6 repository. This is a prerequisite to deploying and using ENOVIA V6 in a secured, multi-user environment.

The VPLMPosImport batch tool imports human-readable import files containing a declaration of the P&O objects that are to be imported.

These files are parsed and executed on the ENOVIA V6 repository. The batch processes commands on a create/update basis: objects are created when not found, or updated when they already exist in the repository.

The import files are written by the VPLM administrator using a proprietary import syntax that is described in "Import File Syntax".

Note: This tool does not manage security data, for which a default implementation exists to be used as is. Any further security data can only be authored directly using standard ENOVIA V6 tools such as the Business application or the MQL command interpreter.

Note: Information about casual licenses is not supported in P&O import batch VPLMPosImport.
