Validating and Debugging an FCS

System Administrators can validate a File Collaboration Server (FCS) installation by accessing the FCS About page.

The following topics are discussed:

The FCS About page shows important information about the FCS and is useful in debugging operations. Additionally, accessing this page triggers the FCS to re-calibrate any time differences that may exist between it and the MCS. A time is recorded for an FCS, and when the time is changed for a time change event such as Daylight Savings Time, this recorded value is no longer correct and needs to be re-calibrated.

To access the FCS About page, run the following command from a web browser:

http://FCShost:PORT/enovia/servlet/fcs/about

where FCShost is the IP address or hostname of the machine on which the FCS is installed and PORT is the port where the FCS is located. For example:

http://localhost:8089/enovia/servlet/fcs/about

The SyncServer XML rule file can be validated by using the DTD file CSR/PLATFORM/xml/syncserverrules.dtd with any validating XML editor.
