About Configuring Properties Files

You can configure many properties as described in this Administrator's Guide. To make sure your configurations are not overwritten when you install a new version of software, you should place your configured properties in a separate file instead of editing the existing properties file.

Refer to the "Configuring the Properties Files" chapter in the Business Process Services Administrator's Guide for instructions on defining the name of your custom properties file in the emxSystem.properties file. All configured properties for all applications must be entered in the file specified by the emxFramework.CustomProperties.Filename property.

Note: This feature works for application properties only; it does not work for string resource property files.

Note: For performance reasons, you should not copy the entire primary properties file into the configured file.

The system loads the primary properties file first, then the configured properties file. If your system includes customized code and applications, the configured properties file can contain additional key-value pairs that are not included in the primary properties file.
