List of Folder Events for Subscriptions

Anyone with read access to an object can request to be notified about certain events for that object, such as promote/demote, or adding/removing content.

When you subscribe to an object event, you receive an IconMail or email message whenever the selected event occurs. Unsubscribing to an object means you no longer receive notifications of those events. The Subscribe command is available from several different pages in Library Central, including the list pages, properties pages and search results pages for libraries, classes, document families, folders, parts, part families, documents, and discussions.

To access this page:


  1. Navigate to the list page, properties page, or search results page that lists the needed folder.
  2. Check each folder you want to subscribe to. (To select all folders, select the check box in the header.)
  3. Select Subscribe or Subscribe to Selected from the page Actions menu or page toolbar.



If you check this alert event: Then the system will notify you whenever:

Content Added

Someone checks in or uploads a file to the folder

Content Removed

Someone removes, but does not delete, a file from the folder

Folder Modified

Details about the folder have been modified

Folder Removed

A folder is removed from a parent, such as another folder or a library
