Creating a Template Object

The Create using Template feature is used to create a document, according to company standards. If a company has its own standard templates for documents like specification document, design document, etc., then the template objects can be created for these documents and these templates can be checked-in in those template objects. This task shows you how to create a Template Object.

  1. In ENOVIA Platform Modeling Studio, create a new template object of any template type. Specify a proper name to the object (for example, if you want the template to be called Agenda template then name the object name as Agenda and even the title name needs to populated.

  2. After creating the template object, check in a template file into that object.

Note: For a custom user to use templates created by Creator, the System Conversion Manager role

must be assigned to the user.

In ENOVIA Platform Modeling Studio, the objects appear.

  3. Expand the selected object,

Attributes appear. The system administrator can edit these attributes.

    Note:

A single template object has a single template file in it.

If multiple files are checked-in in the template object then the create using template feature may not work as expected.

While checking in a message into an Outlook template verify the file name is the same as the subject field of the message being checked in because ENOVIA Collaboration for Microsoft identifies Outlook mail by its subject field.

A template object is created.
