Copying a Folder

The project owner and any member with Project Lead access can create a new top level folder by copying an existing top level. All folder content, subfolders, and subfolder content is also copied to the new folder. Similarly, anyone with Add access for a folder can create a subfolder by copying an existing subfolder in the folder. All subfolders and content are also copied.

Before you begin: View the list of folders for a project. See Listing Folder Content.
  1. To copy a top level folder, check the folder you want to copy and click Clone/Copy from the Actions menu or page toolbar.

To copy a subfolder, click the parent folder's Name from the Folders page. Then click Subfolders from the folder's Categories menu. From the Subfolders page, check the subfolder you want to copy and then click Clone/Copy from the Actions menu or page toolbar.

  2. From the Clone page, revise the Name, Description, Default Access, Policy, and Access Type as needed for the new folder. For help filling in these fields, see Creating or Cloning a Folder or Subfolder.

  3. Click Done.

The new folder is created and it contains all subfolders and content that the source folder has. The names and attributes for all subfolders and content is exactly the same as the source folder's. Make changes as needed for the new folder structure.
