Installing ENOVIA Requirement for Word

In this section you run the ENOVIA Requirement Capture msi that installs the capture toolbar in MS Word. Once the installation is complete, you will use the Settings on the Requirement Capture toolbar to identify the web server location and other user information.


Before you begin: Close all Word sessions in your desktop. If needed, shut down "winword.exe" processes on your machine using the Task Manager.
  1. If needed,expand ENOVIAMicrosoftOfficeRequirementsCapture.zip and then expand ENOVIARequirementsCaptureWord.zip.

  2. Run the setup.exe file.

    If a message indicates the .Net framework is not installed, you must install that option first.

  3. When the installation is complete, start the MS Word application.

    Notice the addition of the Requirement Capture toolbar.

  4. From the Requirement Capture toolbar, click the Settings icon.

    The Settings page opens.

  5. Enter the Web Service Location.

    Using the http://localhost:8080/ematrix, replace the "localhost:8080" with your web address.

  6. From the Vault drop-down menu, select a Storage Area.

    If you leave this field blank, the default vault will be selected automatically.

  7. Select the default Chapter Color, and then set the highlight options:


    • Click Highlight chapter heading to have MS Word highlight topic headings in structure view using default highlight color.
    • Click keep chapter heading highlighted to have MS Word retain highlighting whether background color is toggled on or off.

  8. Select the default Comment Color and Requirement Color.

  9. Set up Structure Capture Automation:


    • Click Use chapter heading for name to use highlighted structure topics as Chapter names during structure capture. Default is to have the system autoname Chapters.
    • Click Include chapter numbering to include numbering with the Chapter name. Default is to exclude numbering..

  10. Click Done.
