About Sub or Derived Requirements

A sub requirement elaborates on some aspect of the original requirement. It does not provide any new information, just a clarification of the original information. A derived requirement does provide new information.

The status attributes for sub and derived requirements is either Valid, Suspect, or Invalid.

Valid means that this sub or derived requirement adheres to all rules.
Suspect means that this sub or derived requirement needs additional work.
Invalid indicates that this sub or derived requirement is invalid and cannot be used.

Sub or derived requirements exist in context of another requirement or specification.
