Roles and Policies

This section describes roles and policies that are installed during the installation of the ENOVIA Collaborative Design for SolidWorks server.

Roles

When ENOVIA Collaborative Design for SolidWorks server is installed, the SolidWorks User role is installed. This role is specific to the integration.

The SolidWorks User role is derived from the Integration User role installed by ENOVIA Designer Central and contains all the privileges of the Integration User role. The Integration User role is installed as the Parent role.

Each user must be assigned the SolidWorks User role to access and use ENOVIA Collaborative Design for SolidWorks.

To prevent a user from being able to use the product, remove the SolidWorks User role from the user.

For details on assigning and unassigning a role for a user, see the Business Process Services Administrator's guide.

You cannot assign the SolidWorks User role to a group.

For details on assigning the proper GCO for the SolidWorks integration, see the section "Updating Assignments and Assigning GCO" in the ENOVIA Designer Central User's Guide.

Policies

The SolidWorks server installer installs "SolidWorks Design Policy" and "SolidWorks Versioned Design Policy" which are SolidWorks specific and are associated to the schema specific to the SolidWorks integration.
