Installing the ENOVIA Collaborative Design for SolidWorks Client

Follow these steps to install the ENOVIA Collaborative Design for SolidWorks Client.

Before you begin:

Ensure that you have removed any previously installed versions of the Client software.

Ensure that the JRE component is installed.

Ensure that the ENOVIA Integration Exchange Framework (IEF) Client is installed.

Ensure that you have the correct software (32- bit or 64-bit) for your system.

  1. Run setupV6.exe.

  2. Do one of the following:

    • Click Cancel to exit the installer.
    • Click Next> to proceed with the installation.

    The installation wizard opens to the Select Software screen, indicating the component you are going to install.

  3. Ensure that SWC - ENOVIA Collaborative Design for SolidWorks Client is selected. Then do one of the following:

    • Click <Back to return to the previous screen.
    • Click Cancel to exit the installer.
    • Click Next> to proceed with the installation.

    The View path screen opens, showing the default installation location.

  4. Do one of the following:

    • Click <Back to return to the previous screen.
    • Click Cancel to exit the installer.
    • Click Next> to accept the default location and proceed with the installation.
    • To change the installation location, type or browse to a new location, and then click Next>.

    The screen to indicate who will use the software opens.

  5. Select Current User to ensure that the Client software is available only to you, or All users if the software should be available to everyone who has access to your computer. Then do one of the following:

    • Click <Back to return to the previous screen.
    • Click Cancel to exit the installer.
    • Click Next> to continue.

    The Choose a language for the integration screen opens.

  6. From the displayed list, select the language you desire and then do one of the following:

    • Click <Back to return to the previous screen.
    • Click Cancel to exit the installer.
    • Click Next> to continue.

    The Start Installation screen opens.

  7. Review the selections on the screen, and then do one of the following:

    • Click <Back to return to the previous screen.
    • Click Cancel to exit the installer.
    • Click Install> to start the installation.

    Note: As part of this process, the SolidWorks 2012 Document Manager API is installed and configured.

  8. When the Setup Complete screen reports that ENOVIA Collaborative Design for SolidWorks Client is installed, click Close.

  9. It is recommended that you reboot your computer.

    If you do not restart the machine, it is possible that errors such as Login to Enovia failed for user: could display.
