Reassigning a Task

When needed, you can reassign a task from you to another user. You can reassign tasks in the current or a future state, but not tasks from prior states or that have already been completed. You can only reassign tasks if the route owner set Allow Delegation to yes.


Before you begin: View the Approvals tab of the Lifecycle PowerView. See Approvals Tab on the Lifecycle PowerView.
  1. Check the tasks that you want to assign to another user. You cannot reassign items that require signatures based on lifecycle states.

  2. Click Reassign on the page toolbar. A search dialog box opens.

  3. Search for the person, role, or group and click Submit.

    See Finding and Selecting People for additional help. An active task can only be reassigned to a user. Future tasks can be reassigned to a user, role, or group.

    If the approval was added to list from the Approvals tab, you see the Add Comments box. If the approval is a route task, this dialog box is skipped.



  4. In the Comments box, enter any comments to explain why the approval is being reassigned.

  5. Click Done.

    The comments are sent in the notification to the selected person and the route owner (unless you are the route owner).
