Creating a Sub Product Line

You can create a Sub Product Line for the selected Product Line. This feature enables you to create a Brand Hierarchy and further categorize the Product Line into Sub-brand, Segment, Commercial Variant and Product.

With this hierarchical arrangement you can not only define the features specific to a level but also reuse the parent level features at its child level.

Before you begin: View the Product Hierarchy page. For more information, see Product Hierarchy of a Product Line.
  1. Select Product Line check box.

  2. In the tab toolbar, select Product Actions > Create Product Line.

The Create Product Line page appears.

  3. Enter the following details about the Sub Product Line.

Fields in red and italics are mandatory attributes.

    1. Select a Type from the list. By default, Sub-brand Type is selected. You can select Sub-brand, Commercial Variant and Segment from the list.

If you change the Marketing Name, the system will change the Description as Marketing Name. This will happen only if you have not changed the Description manually.
