Replying to a Subscription Notification

The ENOVIA products can be configured to automatically create a discussion when someone replies to a subscription notification. The system subscribes all other recipients of the notification to the New Reply event for the discussion. Whenever anyone replies to the message thread, either in email or using the Discussions page, all subscribed users receive the reply as email. You can participate in a discussion using your email account without needing to login and check the Discussions page.

Before you begin: You must be subscribed to events for an object to receive notifications. See Subscribing to Events.

  1. In your email tool, select to reply to the notification. The email message must be from "Subscription Agent".

    Your email tool opens a reply message addressed to Subscription Agent.

  2. Enter your reply and send the message.

    Do not attach any files to the email message. If you need to attach a file to the discussion, see Attachments Page for a Discussion.

    When the ENOVIA product receives the email, it creates a Discussion for the email thread and subscribes you and all the people listed on the CC line to the New Reply event for the discussion. Whenever anyone replies to this thread, the system forwards the reply to all of the subscribed users.
