Accepting a Task Assigned to a Group or Role

When the route creator assigns a task to a group or role and that task is created, the system notifies everyone assigned to the group or role. Before the task can be completed, one of the recipients must accept the task, which assigns the task to that person. The first person who accepts the task becomes the new assignee and no one else can complete the task (unless the assignee delegates the task).


Before you begin: View the list of tasks. See Tasks Page (Inbox, WBS, and Workflow).
  1. From the filter drop-down in the upper right of the page, click Tasks to be Accepted.

  2. Click the link in the Name column to open details about the task.

  3. From the page Actions menu or toolbar on the task Properties page, click Accept.
