Saving Documents

You can save designs in a single step using some of the predefined check-in options set by the Integration Administrator in the Global Configuration Object.

Before you begin: Ensure that the check-in preferences are set. See Modifying the Default Settings.
  • In CATIA, click ENOVIA V6 > Save, or click in the ENOVIA V6 toolbar.

    • The active document and all the documents it points to are considered for saving to ENOVIA. Only new and modified documents are saved to ENOVIA.

Note: If some documents are new and have never been saved to disk, a preliminary dialog is opened. This dialog lists all those documents and proposes to save them to the Local Workspace Directory automatically.

    • By default, new versions are created for all documents being saved. This behavior can be modified using ENOVIA Preferences. See Modifying the Default Settings.
    • Type selection is not possible while saving. The default ENOVIA type associated with the CATIA V5 type of the active document is considered.
    • The saved documents will not be inserted in any workspace folder, except if they were already in some, or if a default workspace folder is specified in ENOVIA Preferences.
    • All documents selected for save are locked forcefully. Any locked document will stay locked, and no additional lock will be acquired for any object. A success message is displayed once the design is saved to ENOVIA successfully.
    • If any document is obsolete or in conflict, then save will not be performed automatically, and the advanced save dialog will open. This Save dialog is also used if it is necessary to include or exclude some documents from the save, to create a revision, to select a specific type. See Saving Documents using Advanced Save.
