Reopening a Defect

You can reopen a closed or rejected Defect if needed.

Before you begin: View the Properties page for the needed Defect. See Viewing Defect Details.

  1. From the page toolbar, click Demote to Open. This action only shows if the Defect is in the Closed or Rejected state. When you reopen a Defect, you need to create a Defect Action.

  2. Enter these details:

    Basics

    • Description. Enter a detailed description of the Defect Action.
    • Defect Action Type. Select an option from the drop-down list.
      • Software
      • Hardware
      • Documentation
      • Test
    • Subscribers. Click the ellipsis button to select people who should be notified whenever a change is made to this Defect Action. The list of subscribers for a Defect Action includes the subscribers to the Defect, and you can additional people.

    Summary

    • Notes. Use this field to enter discussion notes about the Defect Action.

  3. Click Done.

    The next page opens.

  4. Enter details about why the defect is being reopened.

  5. Click Done.
