About File Collaboration ServerThe File Collaboration Server (FCS) enables administrators to distribute file data across the enterprise for optimal upload and download performance. It provides location, checkout, and copy operations on the data managed by the ENOVIA Live Collaboration Server. The FCS brings the ENOVIA Live Collaboration Server file storage functions closer to users on the same LAN segment or across the WAN. The FCS provides these advantages:
Note: The FCS was briefly referred to as eFCS; however, this name is no longer used. Installing FCSThe FCS is installed with the ENOVIA Live Collaboration Server and enabled by default. This means there is no additional installation needed. Licences RequiredA system license is required for each physical site that requires remote file storage. There is no limit to the number of users that can use the ENOVIA File Collaboration Server at a given licensed site, however, all of these users must be licensed to use ENOVIA Live Collaboration. FCS RequirementsThe prerequisites and requirements for the FCS are the same as those for the ENOVIA Live Collaboration Server, which is made available from the Web through the Matrix Web Navigator, ENOVIA products, and other applications written with the ENOVIA Studio Customization Toolkit.
