Setting the Product Configurator Mode

This task shows you how to determine when rules are evaluated when creating a product configuration. By default, the product configurator mode is set to interactive mode. In interactive mode, all rules are evaluated at run-time. In non-interactive mode, all rules except marketing preference rules are evaluated only after you click "Validate Configuration" on the Product Configurations page.

  1. From the global toolbar, select Tools > Preferences. The Preferences form opens.

    The left side of the form lists the global preferences (see Live Collaboration - BPS - AEF User for instructions) and preferences for each application.

  2. In the left frame of the Preferences page, click Variant Configuration.

    If you are using the ENOVIA Semiconductor Accelerator for Design to Manufacture Overlay, in the left frame of the Preference page, click IC Design to Manufacture.

  3. Click Product Configurator Mode.

  4. Choose the mode you want to set the product configurator for:

    • Click Interactive Mode to set the product configurator mode to evaluate all rules at run-time.
    • Click Non-Interactive Mode to set the product configurator mode to evaluate all rule except marketing preference rules only after clicking "Validate Configuration."

  5. Click Apply to set the product configurator mode and have the Preferences window remain open or click Done to set the product configurator mode and close the Preferences form.
