Part Families List

The Part Families page shows a list of part families that are included in a part library; and a Sub Parts Families page shows a list of part families within another part family.

To access this page:

  1. From the global menu, click > Library > Libraries.

    Or:

    From the global menu, click > IP Management > Libraries.

  2. Click the Name of the needed part library. The part families page opens.

Columns for Part Families



To view a sub part family, click a part family name, then Categories > Sub Part Families from the page toolbar. The Sub Part Families page includes the same columns, toolbar, and commands as the Part Families page.

Column Name Description
Name Name of the part family. To view the list of parts in the family, click its Name.
Type The type or subtype of the part family.
Description Details about the part family.
State The current state of the part family in its lifecycle.
Classification Path The hierarchy that this part family belongs to. Click on any name in the hierarchy to view the default page for that item.
Opens the list of parts in the part family in a new window.

Actions for Part Families

Create New Creates a new part family. Creating a New Part Family
Add Existing Locates a part family to add it to this part library. Only part families not connected to other classes or part families can be added to this part family. Searching in Navigation Mode
Search Within Locates an object stored in the selected part library. Searching Within a Library or Folder
Move Moves the selected part families to another part library. Searching in Navigation Mode
Remove Removes the selected part families from this library.

The following additional warning may be issued before the submission is processed: This operation will cause loss of data and cannot be undone. To continue with the operation, click OK. To cancel the operation, click Cancel. Click OK to confirm. This operation can also be time consuming.

Removing an object does not delete it from the database.
