Parts List

This page provides access to specific parts and links to create new parts or, if you are working within the context of a part family, to add existing parts to the part family.

To access this page:


  1. View the properties page for the Part Family. See Part Families List.
  2. Click the Name of the part family.

Columns for Parts



You can also open this page by clicking Categories > Parts.

Column Name Description
Name Name of the part. To view details about a part, click its Name. The part properties page opens.
Shows the primary image (if any) associated with the part.
Rev The part revision number or code.
Type The type or subtype of the part.
Description Details about the part.
State The current state of the part in its lifecycle.
Ref Type Shows whether the part is a referenced part (R), master part (M), or unassigned (U). You see this column when the Part Series functionality is enabled. For details, see the Engineering Central Administrator's Guide.
Opens the properties page for the part in a new window.

Not all roles have access to the listed options.

Create New Part Creates a new part. Creating a Part
Add Existing Locates a part to add it to this part family. Searching in Navigation Mode
Add Existing Compliance Parts Only available if Materials Compliance Central is installed. Locates a compliance part to add it to this part family. Materials Compliance Central User's Guide
Search Within Locates an object stored in the selected part library. Searching Within a Library or Folder
Reclassify Moves the selected parts to another part family. Searching in Navigation Mode
Remove Removes the selected parts from this part family; click OK to confirm. --
Delete Deletes the selected part from the database; click OK to confirm. --
Create Issue Creates an issue related to the part. Creating a New Issue in the Common Components User's Guide
3DLive Examine For 3D images, opens the 3D viewer in a new window. --
