Saving a Document

Save is used to check in an existing file into ENOVIA database that is locked by you.

  1. Open the file you want to check in.

    The file should be locked by you.

  2. Click Save from the ENOVIA V6 ribbon.


    • If the document you are trying to save is locked by you, the document will be saved.
    • Downloaded documents that are unlocked cannot be saved.
    • A Save in Database dialog box appears, which contains the following options:


      • Comment field in which you can add comments. This is a mandatory field.
      • Retain Lock is used to maintain the locked status of the document.
      • Delete Local Files is used to delete the local copy saved in your local working directory.
      • Save is used to upload the file and create a new version of the file.

  3. Click Save.

The file is checked in and saved in the ENOVIA database. A confirmation message appears.

Note: With each Save, the file version is increased.
