Login

You can access the ENOVIA system by clicking the Login button and completing the fields in the login dialog box. The login / logout icon changes to indicate the operation is successful. You only have to log in once to establish a session with the ENOVIA server. When accessing other application there is no need to supply user credentials again. If login authentication is , you login directly to ENOVIA and the login screen does not appear. |
Logout

You can log out by clicking the Logout button close the session with the ENOVIA system. If you close the application without logging out, the ENOVIA working session remains active (subject to a time limit) and you do not need to log in again when accessing a different Microsoft application. New from Template |
To enable organizations to work with predefined templates,
you can use the New from template option to access organizational templates
stored and managed in ENOVIA.
After opening a template, you can update and save the new file as an
organizational template if you have the required privileges. You can download a template file, which is attached to a template document in the database. You can create a new file based on this template with the look and feel of the template. You can create a new document and attach this new file to the document or you can attach the file to an existing document. See Creating a New File from a Template |
Open |
Enables you to open a document to view and update it in Microsoft Office. Download the file from the ENOVIA database to the local working directory [your PC]. If a document is locked by another user, the document is in read-only mode. Also, the file is read-only if you do not lock the document. You can lock the document by selecting Lock from the Open dialog box that appears when you select Open. The document can be locked after being downloaded by the Lock operation from the ENOVIA ribbon. A document can be locked only if it is not locked by another user. See Opening a Document from ENOVIA To open more than one version of a file, download the older version of the document to a special
directory within the local working directories and open the file
from there.
Note:
Microsoft Excel does not allow opening two files with the
same file name. Therefore, this feature is not supported in
Excel.

Save |
Enables you to save a document to ENOVIA by creating a new version with your changes and check in the document to ENOVIA. You can retain the lock, which allows you to continue to make updates or you can unlock the document so other users can make updates to the same revision. See Saving a Document |
Save As |
Create new document: This creates a new document with an initial revision in ENOVIA to which you attach a specific file. Attach to a document: Attach the opened file to an existing document. Navigate to ENOVIA documents, select a document to which you want to attach the file and click Attach. A confirmation message appears in the top pane of the page that says the file successfully attached to a specific object. In the Attach to document and Create new document options you can also retain lock and delete local files. |
Lock |
Allows you to access the document so you can update the file and create a new version. The Lock button toggles between lock and unlock. See Locking and Unlocking Documents |
Attributes |
Shows managed attributes, which are properties that are saved within ENOVIA about each document, such as Access Type, Checkin Reason, Description, Designated User, File Version, Internal Name, Lock Status, Language, Locker, Originator, Owner, Policy, Revision, State, Title, Type, Vault, Version and Version Date. Note:
These properties are different from file properties.

Revisions / Versions |
Shows document revisions and versions for each document object. Document objects are managed by revisions; the files attached to document objects are
managed by version. When a file that is attached to a document object is updated, it is assigned a new version. When a document object is updated it can be updated with attached files or without attached files. If the document object is updated with multiple attached files, the latest version of each file is attached to the new revision of the document object. This means each file can have a different version.See Viewing Revision and Version Information |
Smart Link |
Enables you to insert document references. If you hover next to a reference and right click, you can select different options with regard to a document, such as Attributes, Revision and Version. See Inserting Smart Link |
Insert File |
Enables you to insert a file from ENOVIA into the content of your document. See Inserting a File |
Sync Attibutes |
Enables you to manually synchronize to and from ENOVIA. Synchronization occurs between the mapped document properties and ENOVIA database object attributes. Document properties are mapped in the Global Config Object by the system administrator. See Synchronizing ENOVIA Attributes |
Search |
Enables you to find documents in the ENOVIA database according to a specific Search criteria, which you can save for later use. See Performing Searches |
User Preferences |
Enables you to modify the look and feel of your user interface. |
