Indexing with Windows Desktop Search

To include new/updated information when searching in the Windows Desktop Search, indexing must be performed periodically.

The Index operation reads data in the system and indexes it for quick access.

This task shows you how to define indexing options and perform an index operation.

Searching from Windows Desktop Search
  1. From the Windows Desktop Search window, select > Desktop Search Options or

    Or

    From the menu bar, right-click and select Windows Desktop Search Options.

    The Indexing Options window appears and indexing begins.



    This window shows the locations in which the Windows Desktop Search is performed. The number of items indexed is shown at the top of the window.

  2. To include ENOVIA files in the search, make sure that st://enovia/ appears in the list of locations.

  3. To add or modify locations, click Modify.

    The Indexed Locations window appears.



  4. Change the locations as required and click OK. For details, see the Windows Desktop Online Help.
