Creating a Product Revision

This task shows you how to create a new revision of a product. When a product is revised, all the features directly linked to revision N are, by default, also linked to revision N+1 (relationship replication). You can override this behavior during the revision process. Subfeatures of the first level are unaffected by this operation. During the product revision process, you can replicate features from the previous revision.

The revision sequence for products is alphabetic as opposed to that for product versions, which is alpha-numeric. You can change these settings by using ENOVIA Studio Business Modeler to change the policy's revision sequence number.

Note: If you manually add a configuration feature to a product or product variant and then add it as a design variant to a logical feature, that configuration feature will be retained in the product or product variant context even if the design variant is removed.

Before you begin: Access the Product Revisions Page. For details, see Product Revisions Page.
