Creating a Test Case
  1. From the Categories menu of any engineering change, feature, issue, or, use case, click Test Cases. The list of test cases for the object opens.

The Test Cases page contains the following columns:

Name. Name of the test case. This column contains highlighted links. Click on any name in this column to view the Properties page for that object, or click at the end of the row to view the Properties page in a new browser window.

Description. Details about the test case.

State. The current state of the test case in its lifecycle.

Owner. Person who is currently assigned responsibility for the test case.

Originator. The person who created the test case. This person may not necessarily be the owner of the test case.

(Quick File Access icon). Shows the icon if files are checked into or connected to the object. Click the icon to open the Files page. See Files Associated with an Object.

  2. Use any of the following commands from the page Actions menu or page toolbar to work with the test cases.

    • Create. Creates a new test case.
    • Add Existing. Adds an existing test case to the list. The Search page opens.
    • Delete. Removes all checked test cases from the list and deletes them from the database.
    • Remove. Removes the relationship between all checked test cases and the parent object. It does not delete the test cases from the database.

Note: You can only delete a test case if you have delete access and the test case has no other related objects. Test cases that are related to an Engineering Change (EC) cannot be removed from the parent EC object if they are connected to test executions that are in the Review state or later.
