Selecting Vaults

In many create and search dialogs, you can select a vault. You select the preferred search vault by clicking Tools > Preferences > Default Vault.


Before you begin: Open the search or create page where you need to specify a vault.
  • To select vaults, choose one of the Vault options:



    The list of vaults might be as a section of the dialog box, in a filter on the toolbar, or in a drop-down list.

    User Default. The default vault assigned to this user by the Administrator.

    Local. Searches primary and secondary vaults for your company to which you have access that are local to the connected server.

    All. Searches all primary and secondary vaults to which you have access, including your company's vaults and those of companies defined as collaboration partners, including both local and remote vaults.

    Selected. If your company has secondary vaults in addition to its primary vault, you can click to select from a list of all local and remote vaults in which to search. See Choosing Items by Selecting from a List for details.

    If you are using the VPLM Program Management Integration, use the Selected vault as the VPLM instance when searching for VPLM objects.
