Specification Checkout

Use this procedure to locate and check out a specification file that you selected to check in with the imported captures. The file will open in MS Word with all of the capture data present. You can use the Requirement Capture toolbar to import additional captures and, once again, check in this file as a new version of the specification. The version number is incremented each time you check out and then check in a specification.

You need to open the file on the machine that generated the captures. If you open the file from another machine, the Requirement Capture toolbar may not be available in MS Word.

Before you begin:

Requirement Capture must be installed. For instructions, see Installing ENOVIA Requirement for Word.

View the list of specifications. See Listing Specifications.

  1. Identify the specification, and click .

A file window opens and lists the specification document checked in with the imported captures.

  2. In the Actions column, click (checkout and lock).

A download window opens. A form displays the Open, Save, or Cancel options.

  3. Click Open.

The document opens in MS Word with all of the capture data present. You can use the Requirement Capture toolbar to import additional requirements and to check in this version of the specification.

The Requirement Capture toolbar will only be available if the document is opened from the same machine on which the captures were generated. If Requirement Capture is not installed on the machine, then the Requirement Capture toolbar will not be available.

  4. Select the download window and click Done.
