Running Requirement-Test Case Traceability Reports

The Requirement to Test Case traceability report is a verification report. It verifies, via test validation, whether a product definition meets the requirements. This report ensures all the input requirements have an associated Test coverage and a status of the Test validation.

This task shows you how to:

  1. From the Requirements page, check one object.

    Or

    From the Requirements Specifications page, check one object.

    Or

    From the Structure View page, check one object.

  2. Select Actions > Traceability > Requirement-Test Case.

    The Traceability Report Options page lists the available test case options.

Select Report Options for Related Test Cases

You can display requirements with their related test cases.

  1. Select a report option:

    Requirement-Test Case Validation. Displays Requirements with related Test Cases.

  2. Click Done to run the report.

View the Test Case Traceability Report

The Test Case Traceability Report opens.

Note: Sub and derived requirements may be included or excluded from the report based on the preferences set in Choose Specification Structure.

Specification Input. If a Specification is the input for the test case, the report title will include the Specification name and revision. All listed specifications will include the associated test case and status.

Requirement input. If a requirement is the input for the test case, the report will display the requirements and all associated test cases and status.
