Creating and Accessing Derived PDF Files

If your administrator has specified .pdf as a derived output type for SolidWorks files and you check in SolidWorks files from within SolidWorks, the .pdf file that is generated is available on the Derived Output tab of the .

  1. Check out the design for which you want to create a .pdf file.

  2. Open the design in SolidWorks.

  3. Click Check In (ENOVIA task pane toolbar) and complete the check in process.

  4. Click Explore in ENOVIA (ENOVIA task pane toolbar).

  5. When prompted to log in, type you Username and Password and click Login.

  6. If prompted, choose the appropriate security context from the drop-down list and click Done.

    The CAD Portal View page of the design opens in the browser.

  7. To access the derived .pdf file, above the Summary tab, click Categories > Instances.

  8. In the Instances pane, click the instance (configuration) of the file for which you want to view the .pdf.

  9. In the bottom pane, click the Derived Output tab.

    Note: If you do not see the file, click in the address bar without selecting the address and click Enter.

  10. Under Action, click to download the .pdf file.
