Adding an Existing Project to your Workspace

This task shows you how to add a project already in DesignSync to your local workspace.

Before you begin:
  • Eclipse must be running.
  • The project being added to your local workspace must be in source control.
  • The DesignSync server must be running.

Adding a Project to DesignSync

  1. Select File | Import.

    This launches the Import wizard.

  2. Select the import source: DesignSync Data Manager | Project from a DesignSync Server, then select Next.

    This launches the Specify Server Details window.

  3. Complete the options on the Specify Server Details dialog. For information on specific options see the Specify Server Details page. Then select Next.

    This launches the Specify Workspace Details dialog.

  4. Complete the options on the Specify Workspace Details dialog. For information on specific options, see Specify Workspace Details. Then select Next.

    This launches the Summary Information dialog.

  5. Review the options you've selected on the Summary Information dialog and confirm them by pressing Finish.

    The output result shows the result of the checkin operation.

You have a new project in your workspace containing the specified version of a module or vault project managed by DesignSync.
