ENOVIA Live Collaboration License
All users require a license for ENOVIA Live Collaboration (uses CPF as the product code) to log into an ENOVIA system. This license provides a user with minimal access to data used within the ENOVIA applications so they can access data. For example, a person may need to read specifications for parts from Engineering Central, but they do not need to create, delete, or otherwise act on that data. Other people may need to approve documents or other objects. See the user's guide for each application for a list of the tasks a person with a CPF license can do. If someone needs to perform more than that list of tasks, you need to assign a role and license for that ENOVIA application to that person. Users cannot concurrently log into the same ENOVIA Live Collaboration Server instance from different machines. A server instance refers to a logical server install which could consist of multiple web application servers connected to a single database. Users can, however, log into the same server instance multiple times from the same machine to allow multiple browser windows open on a machine. Users can also log into two different server instances from the same or different machines. For example, a user could log into a production environment server and a test environment server from the same machine. Roles and Licenses
Users who are assigned roles in more than one application require a license for each application. When a user logs in, the user consumes a license for all applications for which they are assigned a license. If a user cannot login because a license in a particular application is not available (the licenses for that product are over-allocated), the user is denied access. For a person to log in and work with an ENOVIA application (beyond the basic access granted by the CPF license), that person needs:
See Assigning Roles to a Person When Creating the User for details. You also have to assign licenses to users of other Dassault Systemes applications (CATIA, DELMIA, SIMULIA, and some ENOVIA products). Those applications are installed on a user's computer, instead of the ENOVIA application server where the user accesses the application using a web browser. Consumed Licenses
When you assign a license to a user, that license is not actually consumed, or used up, until that user logs into the ENOVIA system. When you inactivate a user in the ENOVIA system, you can also choose to remove the license from that user, or allow the user to retain it if you anticipate they may be reactivated. In addition, you can manually remove a license from a user. See Assign Licensing by Product Page. Once a license is consumed by a user, it is consumed for a minimum of 30 days and cannot be reassigned to another user within that period. Over Allocated Licenses
You can allocate more licenses than you have available. For example, you may see that of 1000 licenses you purchased and allocated, only 500 have been consumed. In this case, if you have a request for a license, you can assign it to that user without consuming all of your licenses. Also, you can purchase additional licenses and apply them to the server (see the Dassault Systemes Licensing Essentials Guide), and eliminate the deficit in licenses. The Licensing by Product page (see Assign Licensing by Product Page) marks over-allocated licenses with a red background. |
