General Installation for ENOVIA Live Collaboration Server

This task describes the general installation procedure for ENOVIA Live Collaboration Server.

Preparing to Install the ENOVIA Live Collaboration Server
  1. Install the DS License Server. This is a prerequisite for the ENOVIA Live Collaboration Server and is responsible for installing and making your company's user licenses available for use. For more information, see DS License Server Installation and Configuration.

  2. Install the ENOVIA Live Collaboration Server as described in Installing ENOVIA Live Collaboration Server.

  3. Follow the instructions for obtaining and assigning your user licenses in DS Licensing Essentials.

  4. Install all necessary ENOVIA products as described in Studio Modeling - Installation (PDF file), Live Collaboration - BPS Installation, and/or Live Collaboration - Web Applications Installation.

  5. If necessary, adjust the server configuration as required, including the recommended UTF-8 configuration as described in UTF-8 Settings.

    If you are using a Japanese environment, follow the instructions found in Configuring a Japanese Web Environment in Live Collaboration - Server Administration for this step and steps 6 through 8 below.

  6. Optionally adjust J2EE settings in the Web.xml file as described in Modifying J2EE Settings.

  7. Build the Web archive file as described in Building the J2EE Archive File.

  8. Follow the instructions for Deploying the J2EE Archive File.

  9. Optionally install an additional server as described in Installing Multiple ENOVIA Live Collaboration Servers (RIP only).
