Compatibility Rules Page

The Compatibility Rules page shows rules defined for a product line, product, logical feature, manufacturing feature, configuration feature, or model. This also includes products defined as logical/manufacturing/configuration features or subfeatures. All rules support the ability to select a product without selecting a feature/option pair, for example, Product A requires Product Y.

To access the Compatibility Rules page, first access the Configuration Rules page for an object (see Viewing Configuration Rules), then in the Configuration Rules page, select the Compatibility Rules tab.

Columns

Column Description
Name Name of the compatibility rule
Left Expression The left expression defined in the rule equation
Compatibility The operator used to compare the left expression to the right expression. Valid values are requires, incompatible, and co-dependent.
Right Expression The right expression defined in the rule equation

Owner The user who is responsible for the rule. By default, the user who creates the rule is the owner.

Edit Click to edit the compatibility rule. The left and right expression fields are pre-loaded with the existing values found in the database. You can add to the existing expressions, or erase the existing expression to create a new expression.

Note: This is the only place where you can edit expressions on a rule.

Note: It is not possible to edit a compatibility rule if the context object is in the Release or Obsolete state.
