Generating a Split-View Report

You can generate two types of reports for configuration featres: a split-view report with a dual-channel interface in a horizontal layout or a structure comparison report. These reports are available from any context that provides a configuration features summary view. This topic describes how to generate a split-view report.

Before you begin: Access the Configuration Features page for a product, product line, product variant, model, or configuration feature. See Configuration Features Page.

Generating a Structure Comparison Report for Configuration Features
  1. From the Reports menu of the Configuration Features page, select Split View.

The PowerView window opens with two tabs displayed horizontally, one above the other instead of side-by-side. The top channel shows configuration features, the bottom channel configuration options.

  2. Click on the hyperlinked name of a configuration feature in the top channel to display its associated configuration options in the bottom channel.

The top channel (Configuration Features) displays the same columns as in the Configuration Features page, except for List Price.

The bottom channel (Configuration Options) displays the immediate children for the object selected in the top channel. If a selected configuration feature has multiple levels, the lower channel also shows configuration features that were created as children of that feature. This channel displays the same columns as in the Configuration Options page, except for Mandatory and Inheritance Type.

  3. Click the blue square icon in the upper right corner of either channel to expand that channel to fill the entire window. Click it again to return the channel back to its original size.
