Attribute Groups List

The Attribute Groups Maintenance page shows all attribute groups defined in the database.

From this page, you can view the descriptions of the groups and whether or not they are assigned to any classes. To view the list of attribute groups assigned to a specific class or part family, see List of Attribute Groups in a Class.

To access this page:


  1. Log in as a user with the Librarian role.
  2. From the global toolbar click, > Library > Administration > Attribute Group Maintenance.

    Or:

    From the global toolbar click, > IP Management > Administration > Attribute Group Maintenance.

Columns for Attribute Groups



Column Name Description
Name Name of the attribute group. Click to view the list of attributes in the group.
Description A brief description about the attribute group.
Assigned Shows "Yes" if the attribute group is assigned to at least one class. Otherwise, shows "No."


Opens the list of attributes in the group in a new window.

Create New Creates a new attribute group. Creating a New Attribute Group
Delete Deletes the selected attribute groups from the database; click OK to confirm. This command does not delete the individual attributes.

You cannot delete an attribute group if it is connected to any class objects that contain classified items.

Export Exports the selected attribute groups to an XML file so that they can be imported to another system. Typically used to move attribute groups from a development to a production system. Exporting and Importing an Attribute Group
Export as Background Process Exports the selected attribute groups as above, except as a background job. Exporting and Importing an Attribute Group
Import Imports attribute groups that were exported from another system using the Export action. Exporting and Importing an Attribute Group
