Products can have any number (0 to N) of features linked to them. Products are identified with revisions and versions. Products are maintained as product masters and are related to a product line. The first time a product revision is created, a new product master is also created. The first instance of a product can only be a product revision. You can then decide whether to revise the current product revision or create a product version. When a product is revised or versioned, all the features directly linked to revision N are, by default, also linked to revision N+1 (relationship replication). Subfeatures of the first level are unaffected by this operation. During the product revision or version process, you can replicate features from the previous revision or select from a list of existing versions. Note: Only users with a Product Manager or System Engineer role can replace a GBOM for a released product or released feature. |
