Viewing Images

This task shows you how to view the images associated with an object. The Images page shows all images for the context object. This page can be accessed from within the context of a feature, product, or model.


Before you begin: Access the Properties page of the object where you want to work with images.

  1. From the object's Categories menu, click Images.

    The list of images for the object opens.

    It contains the following columns:

    (Image File icon). If a file is checked in, the image is shown in this column.

    Seq. No. Displays the currently assigned sequence number order of the images. All images are ordered to ensure that they are displayed in the desired sequence in the slide show.

    Name. Name of the image. This column contains highlighted links. Click on any name in this column to view the Properties page for that object, or click at the end of the row to view the Properties page in a new browser window.

    Description. Details about the image.

    Image Size. The horizontal and vertical size of the image in pixels.

    Marketing Name. The marketing name associated with the image.

    Marketing Text. The marketing text associated with the image.

    Primary Image icon. Shows if the image is defined as the primary image.

    Owner. The current owner of the image object.

  2. Click any of the following commands from the page Actions menu or page toolbar to work with the images.


    • Create. Creates a new image.
    • Add Existing. You can add an existing image in the database to the list. The Search page opens.
    • Slide Show. Shows the images in sequence.
    • Move Up or Move Down. Changes the sequence number of the images to be shown in the slide show. The image with sequence number 1 is the primary image for the object.
    • Remove. Removes the relationship between all checked images and the parent object. It does not delete the images from the database.
    • Delete. Removes all checked images from the list and deletes them from the database.

      Note: If you delete or remove the primary image, then the image with the lowest sequence number will be made primary.
