Adding a Subgoal to a Business Goal

A subgoal is a way of categorizing a goal and lets you assign projects to different categories for the goal. Any Business Manager for the host company can create subgoals. Subgoals can be created for a goal only if no project is associated with the goal. Once the business goal is associated with a project, it can no longer be further classified. In other words, the hierarchy ends once it is associated with a project. Similarly, once you add a subgoal to a goal, you can no longer associate a project with the goal. Projects must then be associated with the subgoal.

Before you begin: View the basic information for the business goal. See Viewing Information for a Business Goal.
  1. From the Categories menu, click Subgoals.

  2. From the Subgoals page, choose the parent goal. If needed, expand the subgoals under a goal by clicking next to the goal.

  3. Click Create Child Below Selected from the Actions menu or page toolbar.

The Create New Business Goal Page opens. This fields are the same as for creating a parent goal. For details, see Creating a Business Goal.

  4. Click Done.
