Viewing Part Details

Suppliers can view details about parts defined for quotation line items. Part details include attributes that define the part and documents attached to the part.

Before you begin: View the Properties page for the needed quotation line item. See Viewing Details for Quotation Line Items
  1. Click the Part name.

    Part Details

    If the system includes Engineering Central, the attributes and categories for parts are different from those described here. For information about the additional categories and fields, click Help on the part Properties page.

    This page lists these details:

    Owner. Person who has primary responsibility for the part, usually a Design Engineer.

    Originator. The person who created the part.

    Originated. Date the part was originally created.

    Modified. Date the part was modified.

    State. Identifies the state of the part. A part can be in one of four states:

    • Preliminary. Part is created and assigned. The Owner (usually a Design Engineer) of the part builds the Bill of Materials and connects the appropriate Drawing Print.
    • Review. The responsible Manufacturing Engineer reviews the Part by reviewing its attributes, Bill of Material, Drawing Print and reviews the design for manufacturability.
    • Release. When a part is released, it is locked so no additional changes can be made. The Part is removed from the Engineer's desk.
    • Obsolete. Part can no longer be used in any new Bill of Materials. The Part lifecycle is complete.

    Description. A description of the part as entered by the buyer.

    Material Category. By default the following choices are available: Metal, Plastic, Glass, Rubber Concrete.

    Weight. The weight of the part.

    Service Make Buy Code. Unassigned, Make (in-house services), or Buy (services provided from outside sources).

    Target Cost. The target cost on a per part basis. [available?]

    Unit of Measure. LB(pound), IN(inch), GA(gallon), FT(feet), EA(each).

    Originator. The person who created the part.

    Production Make Buy Code. Unassigned, Make (items designed and fabricated in house), or Buy (items bought from outside sources).

    Lead Time. The amount of time (for example, 8 weeks) that it will take to manufacture the part.

    Effectivity Date. The date a component will become effective in the Bill of Material.

    Estimated Cost. The estimated cost on a per part basis.

    Classification. By default the following choices are available: Unassigned, Wiring Harness, Software, Sheet Metal, Printed Circuit Board, Molded, Machined, Hardware, Extrusion, Other.
