Viewing Timelines

This task shows you how to view timelines.

The vertical axis shows roadmap objects. The roadmap object's image is shown beside the name and title. You can click the image to show the object's properties information. The tooltip on the image gives additional information about the roadmap object such as description. This is configurable for each roadmap object.

The horizontal timeline on the chart corresponds to the individual roadmap object. It spans from the first milestone to the last milestone. The milestone is plotted on the timeline depending upon the milestone date (either estimated or actual start or end date) as provided. By default, the name of the roadmap object is linked to its Properties page. This is configurable to show a title specific to the roadmap object along with the name.

Viewing Model Properties

  1. To view a timeline, do one of the following:

    • From the global toolbar, click > Product Line > Products.
    • Access a portfolio's Contents page.
    • Access the Properties page of a model and click Product Revisions from the Categories menu.

  2. Check one or more products or models for which you want to view a timeline.

  3. Click View Timeline from the page Actions menu or toolbar. The Timeline page opens.



  4. Click any of the following from the page toolbar to work with the timeline:

    • View. Select a view of the timeline based on a unit of time: weeks (default), months, quarters, or years.
    • Reset. If the milestones are filtered based on some filter criteria, you can click Reset to clear the filter options so that all milestones are displayed.
    • Filter. You can filter the milestones depending upon the selected values of the relationship attribute between the roadmap object and milestone. For details, see Filtering Timelines.
