Listing Projects for a Business Goal

All Program Central users who are employees of the host company can list the projects associated with a business goal.

Associating a business goal with a project means that the project is designed to fulfill the business goal. A business goal can be fulfilled by one or more projects. Any employee of the host company who is assigned to the Business Manager role can associate an existing project with a business goal.

Before you begin: View the basic information for the business goal. See Viewing Information for a Business Goal.
  1. From the Categories menu, click Projects.

A Projects page opens, listing all projects associated with the business goal. This page lists the same information about projects as does the standard Projects page. For a description of the columns, see Listing Projects.

You can click the Project name to view the PowerView for that project.

  2. Use the page Actions menu or toolbar to work with projects:

Create New. Create a new project and associate it with this goal. You must be assigned to the Project Lead role to create a new project. This procedure is the same as the procedure for creating any project except the current business goal is automatically associated with the new project. See Creating a Program.

Add Project. Add an existing project to this goal. If a subgoal has been added to the goal, projects can no longer be associated with the goal but can be associated with the subgoal. In other words, projects can only be associated with the lowest-level goals. Similarly, once you associate a project with a goal, you can no longer add subgoals to it. Also, projects cannot be added to Complete goals. See Searching for a Project.

Remove Selected. Remove the selected project from the business goal; click OK to confirm. Any employee of the host company who is assigned to the Business Manager role can remove a project from a business goal. Projects cannot be removed from Complete goals.
